Academic Admissions Requirements

Statement of Policy

The following academic requirements, depending on application type, will be used  to determine eligibility for the online certificates and degrees program: 

For the 2025 Catalog Year, beginning in the January 2025 Term: 

PathwayConnect Applicant Type - (PathwayConnect bill type) 

  • Students must complete the PathwayConnect Certificate, which includes fulfilling the following  requirements:  

    • Complete PC 101/101L, PC 102/102L, and PC 103/103L courses, with a C or better in  each course to progress. 

    • Complete 2 credits of Institute with a passing (P) grade 

    • Complete the gateway certificate course with a C- or better 

Direct Admit Applicant Type - (Online Standard bill type) 

An applicant is eligible to apply to the Online Certificates and Degrees program as a direct admit student  if they meet the following criteria:

  • They have earned a U.S. high school diploma or its equivalent. 

  • They have completed a minimum of three (3) credits from a U.S. regionally accredited college or  university after earning a U.S. high school diploma or its equivalent. Completing only a portion  of the PathwayConnect credits does not satisfy this requirement. 

  • They have a 2.0 or higher cumulative GPA for those college or university credits. 

For Catalog Years Prior to 2025: 

PathwayConnect Applicant Type - (PathwayConnect bill type) 

  • Students must complete, or must have completed, one of the following course combinations with a 3.0 Program GPA (excludes religion and certificate courses) prior to Winter 2025 term:

    • PC 101/101L, PC 102/102L, PC 103/103L 

    • GS 120/120L, MATH 100/100L, ENG 106/106L 

    • GS 120/120L, PC 102/102L, PC 103/103L 

    • PC 101/101L, MATH 100/100L, ENG 106/106L 

    • GS 120/120L, MATH 100/100L or ENG 106/106L, PC 102/102L 

    • PC 101/101L, MATH 100/100L or ENG 106/106L, PC 102/102L 

  • For students who apply in the third semester of PathwayConnect (while taking PC 103/103L),  the criteria will be a combined GPA of 3.0 for PC 101/101L and PC 102/102L, or equivalents.

    • Although the initial admission decision will not be based  upon additional PathwayConnect requirements such as religion and introductory  certificate courses, the expectation is that an admitted student will graduate from  PathwayConnect. Failure to do so may result in a revision or cancellation of admission  to the Online Degree Program. 

Online Transfer Applicant Type - (Online Standard bill type) 

  • Earned a minimum of 24 credits at a university (can be combined CES and non-CES)

  • Earned a minimum 2.0 combined GPA from these universities  

  • Language test scores (if applicable)* 

Online Freshman Applicant Type - (Online Standard bill type) 

  • Self-report HS GPA – minimum or 2.0 (or HS equivalency) – Students will be informed they may  be required to submit official transcripts at a later date. 

  • International: Must submit evaluated HS Transcripts 

  • Do not ask for or collect any ACT/SAT scores at this point. Students will be given the opportunity  to submit official scores after admission. 

  • Language test scores (if applicable)*

2023.11.27 – SETEG removed Online Transfer Applicant Type and Online Freshman Applicant Type  information and inserted Direct Admit information. 

2024.03.25 – Curriculum Council (Feb 5) updated requirements for catalogs prior to 2025. SETEG approval March 25.
