Applied Health (Associate)

Program Description

The Applied Health degree provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to promote and protect the health of individuals and families in their communities. This field works to prevent injuries and sickness and encourages wellness by promoting healthy behaviors. This field offers a wide range of job opportunities and is recognized by governments, companies, and other organizations for its importance in improving quality of life and saving money through prevention. Students will develop a variety of employable skills in health promotion planning, implementation, evaluation, research methods, health behavior change, communication, spreadsheets, and others applicable to a number of entry-level jobs with health departments, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), or other organizations dealing with health promotion, community health, health care, and data science.

Potential Employment

Students who complete the applied health associate degree will be prepared to work in a variety of health-related careers. Click on the certificates listed in the table above for specific employment opportunities.

Courses that fulfill Religion Cornerstone requirement, will not be counted towards Religion Elective courses.

Religion courses taken at other CES schools or Institutes of Religion may count as religion elective credit.

Associate Degree Requirements:

Students must earn 60 total credits to be awarded an associate degree. Courses are automatically planned based on certificate and degree selections. All student credits earned (including general education, certificate, or transfer credits) will be applied toward the awarding of an associate degree.
