Program Description

The Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Software Development prepares students with the foundational skills necessary to find a job in programming and web development.  

Potential Employment

Successful students will be prepared for a variety of positions in web and software development.  

1. Write programs to accomplish meaningful tasks in a variety of domains.

2. Design websites that are visually appealing and effective.

3. Develop responsive webpages that follow standards and best practices.

4. Learn and apply new technology and techniques in future programming.

5. Demonstrate the design and creation of relational databases.

6. Develop dynamic web front-ends that consume APIs.

7. Develop backend functionality for web applications.

8. Develop, document, and deploy web services.

9. Develop full stack web applications.

10. Use professional tools to collaborate and author code in a shared environment.

Courses that fulfill Religion Cornerstone requirement, will not be counted towards Religion Elective courses.

Religion courses taken at other CES schools or Institutes of Religion may count as religion elective credit.

Associate Degree Requirements:

Students must earn 60 total credits to be awarded an associate degree. Courses are automatically planned based on certificate and degree selections. All student credits earned (including general education, certificate, or transfer credits) will be applied toward the awarding of an associate degree.
