Knowledge of the Physical and Natural World
Course Description
This course is designed to integrate a knowledge of the foundations of physical science with an understanding of the systems and mechanisms that sustain life on earth. Special emphasis is placed on the practical understanding of biological processes and applying principles of good stewardship and good health.
1. Identify the features of earth processes to explain local characteristics of the environment
2. Apply knowledge of cellular biology to living creatures and to current health issues
3. Identify, define, and discuss the role of genes in relation to the building of proteins and evolution.
4. Assess the health of living ecosystems and plan the preservation of endangered species
5. Practice applying vital statistics to assess human health
6. Connect what you have learned about life and nature to the Creator and the process of creation.
