Disciple Leadership Capstone
Course Description
Ensign Colleges mission to develop capable and trusted disciples of Jesus Christ is pervasive throughout our curriculum. This course will provide students an opportunity to reflect on their experience at Ensign and consider how it has prepared them to become better leaders and disciples of Christ. Students will engage in case studies, discussions, etc. as they focus on characteristics of disciples. They will further consider how they can demonstrate this discipleship through the lens of our schools College-Wide Capabilities. Student agency and responsibility for their own learning will drive the overall learning experience in the course. By the end of the semester, students will have a plan for how to remain disciples of Jesus Christ for the rest of their lives. This experience will help solidify each students commitment to letting God prevail and staying on the covenant path.
1. Investigate and identify collective principles for disciple leadership and the College-Wide Capabilities.
2. Construct personalized working definitions for disciple leadership and the CWCs that interface with the collective principles.
3. Deconstruct how outside influences informed your creation and application of the collective principles and individual definitions.
4. Demonstrate synthesis of discipleship and the CWCs in real and applied ways in the context of your major.
5. Critically reflect and draw conclusions about your individual discipleship and your application of the CWCs.
