Hospitality & Tourism Financial Management
Course Description
Students are introduced to essential managerial accounting principles as they relate to the hospitality and tourism industry. Core subjects introduced in the course include financial statement analysis, cost analysis and control, menu pricing, forecasting, budgeting, labor planning, and inventory control. Students gain applied understanding of the material through industry-simulated assignments and projects.
1.Analyze, interpret, evaluate, and create financial statements using spreadsheet software
2.Implement effective strategies to manage expenses, optimize revenue, and maximize profit.
3.Proficiently forecast revenues, related volumes, expenses, profit, and cash flows.
4.Evaluate various types of costs, financial performance, and investment opportunities in the industry.
5.Use industry-standard terminology related to accounting and finance topics.
6.Apply career skills and the teachings of the gospel to financial management in the hospitality/tourism industry.
