Nondiscrimination

Statement of Policy

BYU-Pathway Worldwide, BYU–Idaho, and Ensign College prohibit unlawful discrimination in employment, education, and all institutionally sponsored programs and activities. This prohibition applies to acts of unlawful discrimination by or against employees, students, and campus visitors – including applicants for employment or admission – and it includes unlawful discrimination on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, religion, sex (including pregnancy), age, disability, genetic  information, or veteran status.

BYU-Idaho and Ensign College (and BYU-Pathway Worldwide, to the extent it provides services for these schools) qualify for and operate under the religious exemption to Title IX of the Education Amendments, 20 U.S.C. 1681(a)(3). As institutions supported by and affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, BYU-Pathway Worldwide, BYU-Idaho, and Ensign College give lawful preference in employment and admissions decisions to qualified, faithful members of the Church in good standing.

Unlawful discrimination will not be tolerated, and immediate and appropriate steps will be taken to stop it, prevent its recurrence, and address its effects. As educational institutions sponsored by and affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, employees and students must observe the Church  Educational System Honor Code and all institutional policies.

Individuals who believe they have been discriminated against should submit a Discrimination Grievance through the Grievance Form found in the Student Portal.

Note: BYU-Idaho, BYU-Pathway, and Ensign College attorneys are working together with other CES attorneys to propose standardized language on this policy across all CES higher education. They have edited BYU-Pathway's policy language to reflect what they believe will be in the final standardized  version. The BYU-Pathway Nondiscrimination policy will be modified to reflect future changes made by the CES legal team.
