Course Drops and Withdrawals
Statement of Policy
Students are responsible for their enrollments and are expected to participate in all courses for which they are registered until they complete, drop, or withdraw from those courses. After the start of the term, students have specific opportunities to remove an enrolled course from their schedule:
STUDENT DROP: Courses dropped by the Drop Deadline on the Academic Calendar will not appear on transcripts. Students are responsible to drop the courses in which they do not plan to participate or complete.
AUTO-DROP: Students who never participate in a course will be auto-dropped on Day 8. Participation is determined by logging in to the course in Canvas. Auto dropped courses will not appear on transcripts.
WITHDRAWAL: Courses withdrawn after the Drop Deadline and before the Withdrawal Deadline listed on the Academic Calendar, will appear on transcripts with a W grade (official withdrawal). W grades are not calculated into the GPA.
UNOFFICIAL WITHDRAWAL: Students who stop attending class but do not officially withdraw by the withdrawal deadline will receive an Unofficial Withdrawal (UW). The UW is calculated in the GPA as a failing grade (E or F).
