Additional Credentials
Statement of Policy
Students may earn multiple credentials of an equivalent level (e.g., certificate, associate, bachelor) offered from BYU-Idaho and Ensign College through BYU-Pathway Worldwide by completing all program requirements of each individual credential on the latest catalog. At least 25% of the credit hours for each additional degree or certificate must be unique.
Students can earn an additional certificate or degree by:
Completing all course and program requirements
Complete a minimum of 6 new credits to earn a new certificate
Complete a minimum of 1 new certificate to earn a second associate degree
Complete a minimum of 2 new certificates to earn a second bachelor’s degree
Additional Policies
Same-name certificate policy: If a certificate was completed on a past catalog year and it has the same name as one of the existing certificates on the new catalog year, only one of these certificates for the new degree will be accepted for the new degree, as only one same-name certificate is allowed.
See the Transfer Evaluation Policy for more information on how transfer degrees may waive general education requirements
Students cannot earn an additional degree with the same name as a previously earned degree.
Students cannot earn an additional Professional Studies degree, unless all three certificates are new.
